I am Dr. Gabriella Veress,
internist and cardiologist, specialized in echocardiography.
My medical credowas defined by the ‘Mayo spirit’: during the years I spent at the world’s largest and most famous private medical clinic in the US, the Mayo Clinic: “The patient comes first.”
My healing work
- I started my professional training at the Vascular and Cardiovascular Clinic of the Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary.
- The fact that I was able to work at one of the world’s leading clinics, in the cardiac ultrasound department of the American Mayo Clinic, had a decisive influence on my development.
- I also worked at the University Clinic in Vienna, in the Allgemeines Krankenhaus, within the clinical program of the European Society of Cardiology, where I perfected my expertise in echocardiography with the help of outstanding mentors.
- I gained my experience in geriatrics in Vienna, in addition to that, I also worked in a group practice in internal medicine for several years.
- Furthermore I took part in professional study trips in Spain, Germany, England and Dubai on several occasions.
- I obtained my diploma in nutritional medicine in Vienna, accredited by the Austrian Medical Chamber.
My research work
- In 2008-2009, I completed research at the world-famous Mayo Clinic, based on which I obtained a PhD degree in 2012 at the Városmajor Vascular and Heart Surgery Clinic in Budapest on the topic of new echocardiographic techniques.
- Within echocardiography, my specialty is the diagnosis of heart muscle diseases and pericardial diseases, and I have published international articles in these areas.
- I had a first author publication published in Circulation Imaging, one of the most significant professional journals in my field.
- I wrote a summary report on the topic of pericardial diseases at the request of Dr. Jae K Oh (head of the Mayo Clinic Diagnostic Center).
Teaching/lecturer activity
- Presented at many international conferences.
- I was also an invited speaker at the webinar of the world’s No. 1 online echocardiography platform.
- I am a founding member of the Hungarian Medical Association of America – Hungarian Chapter and I actively participate in the organization’s annual conferences.
